Welcome To The Official Website Of The Jazz & Vintage Vocalist
Melanie May has been singing and performing from the tender age of five. She would watch her Father Tom performing as a tiny tot, she desperately wanted to join him on stage and she finally won him over.
Tom would gently hold her in his arms as they sang duets together, raising smiles and cheers from their audiences. As she grew in confidence, she began to sit on the edge of the stage and sing solo. She became a regular addition to Toms act at the clubs where he was resident vocalist and compere. She has been singing and performing ever since all thanks to her parents Tom and Elsie’s love, encouragement and support.
Melanie’s lengthy professional music career has been both varied and colourful. Although her rich natural voice lies in the contralto range, her voice spans over 3 octaves, and her dynamic vocals have seen her perform in a diversity of different tribute acts. She has performed as Frida in ABBA, through 70’s/80’s Disco and The Commitments tribute to name but a few. Melanie is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and has performed her own compositions live. This has seen her playing at various events, from private parties and weddings through to large corporate functions, across a wide array of venues both in the U.K and internationally. Here is a small selection of venues where Melanie has performed.

Her true love however has always been for the beautiful songs of the bygone era, the very same songs that she sang as a toddler with her Father Tom. It was always in her destiny to revisit these old friends again and her warm, rich voice lends itself perfectly to the timeless classics of Jazz, The Standards, Swing, Blues, Latin and Ballads.
Melanie's parents Tom and Elsie, her biggest inspiration.
